Augmind StudioPrivacy Policy
Effective: May 2026. Early-access version. We'll publish a notice in your account if anything material changes.
The short version
We collect what we need to grade speech submissions and surface feedback. We don't sell it. We use OpenAI, Supabase, and Resend as third-party processors. Parents can revoke consent for any under-18 student at any time and we delete the audio.
What we collect
- Account info from tutors: email, display name, role description.
- Student profile data: name (entered by you or the parent), grade band, audience flag (minor / adult). For minors, the parent's email and consent record.
- Audio recordings when a student records an attempt.
- Transcripts generated from those recordings.
- AI-generated feedback drafts and your published edits.
- Audit events: consent grants, revokes, feedback publishes, and similar — for compliance and debugging.
How we use it
We use the data to deliver the service: transcribing speech, generating AI grading drafts, presenting feedback to you and your students, and proving (when audited) that consent was collected before child data was touched. We don't use your students' data to train any AI model and we don't sell it.
Third parties
We rely on these vendors to deliver the service. Each has its own privacy commitments at the link below.
- OpenAI — Whisper for transcription, GPT for grading drafts. API data usage policy

Children (under 13) — COPPA
We do not allow children under 13 to use Augmind without verifiable parental consent. Tutors create a roster invite and email it to the parent; the parent verifies their email, reviews what data is collected, and consents on the child's behalf via the VPC flow. Until that's done, no child profile, audio, or transcript exists in our system.
A parent can revoke consent at any time. Revocation immediately invalidates the student's portal access and triggers deletion of associated audio within 30 days. Coach feedback rows and audit events are retained per the section below.
Students 13-17
State-level minor data protections vary widely. To keep the flow consistent, we treat all under-18 students the same as under-13: parent consent required, parent can revoke.
Adults (18+)
A coach can invite an 18+ student directly. The student self-consents at sign-up (we record the consent text, the notice version, and the student's IP at grant time as legal evidence). Adult students can ask their coach to delete their account; we'll do so within 30 days.
Retention
- Audio recordings: 90 days after the class's last assignment, or sooner on consent revoke.
- Transcripts + feedback rows: kept indefinitely so the student / parent / coach can revisit results later. Deleted on coach request.
- Audit events: kept indefinitely — these are the compliance trail.
Your rights
Email us at privacy@augmindstudio.com for any of: access your data, correct something we've gotten wrong, delete your account, revoke a parental consent, ask what we've done with a specific recording. We respond within 30 days.
Changes
If we make a material change to this policy, we'll show a notice when you next sign in and pin the new version date at the top of this page.
